Program: A Guide to Raptor Identification for Beginning and Intermediate Birders

Karen Beckenbach, William (Bill) Norris and a “Special Guest” will provide an overview of raptor identification featuring Vultures, Eagles, Accipiters, Buteos, Harriers, Ospreys and Falcons that regularly occur in southwestern New Mexico. Emphasis will be placed on plumage variation, appearance in flight, migration and general biology of each species. This presentation will prepare attendees for the upcoming winter Raptor Count sponsored by the Bird Alliance of Southwestern New Mexico.
