Bird Alliance of Southwestern New Mexico extends all gratitude to Dave Becker, Ken Wallace, and Heidi Erstad for their contribution to the public comments opposing the proposed expansion of military operations over the Gila and other important bird and birding areas. Heidi downloaded and compiled eBird data and encouraged members to attend listening sessions and provide personal comments; Ken devoted multiple hours to compiling and charting eBird data for impacted areas; Dave analyzed the data and presented compelling arguments on the risks and hazards the proposed expanded activities would have on birds and birders alike. In addition to his efforts for BA, Dave also provided the Gila Coalition with information on critical environmental issues within the Draft Environmental Impact Statement.
